2026 Glasgow Games memories

JAMES BORLAND

After the first day of the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow 2026 I had a couple of days before I attended my next event which was the bowls again at the SEC. I attended the bowls at Glasgow 2014 which was outdoors in Kelvingrove Park. On the day I attended the weather was nice but in 2026 with the bowls being indoors it protected everyone from the rain and ensured their was no disruption, which was a good idea as it did rain later that week.
Later that week on the Thursday my wife and I went to watch the netball in the OVO HYDRO, which was probably one of the highlights of the games with an excellent atmosphere and view of the court.
On the Friday I went to the athletics in Scotstoun, which was excellent as I managed to see Michelle Wood from Scotland winning her Gold medal in the Para1500 m race a race she one a day before but had to be rerun due to a collision of wheelchairs.
On the Sunday the last day of the Games I watched Judo for the first time and was surprised at the size of the floor space which was bigger than I thought.
Finally I attended the Closing Ceremony which was excellent and saw all the athletes enjoying themselves dancing and taking pictures to take home so that they can have their own Sporting Memories.
